"Mommy! a Baby Ant!!"

Today we did our normal routine, but i decided to change it up a bit. Usually we eat lunch then go climb in bed for naps, but today we decided to go play outside after we ate. It was windy and cool out. There were grey clouds looming overhead, i just knew we had very little time before it started to pour. Some Kids had thrown a ball over the fence a week ago and never came to ask for it back, so i made a point to go get it for the boys since that side of the yard is gates off as a dog run ( even tho we dont have a dog). Caleb had a great time kicking the ball around. I think he will enjoy Soccer and be very good at it. He had some great skill running and kicking the ball as he went. I will have to make absolutely sure I enroll him in it next season. Elijah ran around the yard doing his favorite thing, Picking the dandelions! He also picked up the freshly cut grass and piled it all into his cubby hole that sits in the back of his trike. He is most absolutely going to be my mudd pie boy! Then they decided to color on the sidewalk with the chalk. Caleb drew a smiley face with hair and instructed me to draw glasses on it, while Elijah drew beautiful perfect scribbles! Something caught both of their attention... at the same time.

"Mommy! a Baby Ant!!!" Caleb screams and Elijah follows suit. That poor little ant ran as fast as it could but couldnt hide or out run my 2 curious boys. They attempted to feed the ant some Dandelions. The ant ducked and weaved through them. I told Caleb I was pretty sure that the Ant already had lunch, but he insisted the ant have a snack. Eventually it got away and the boys went on coloring ..just to spot another one and follow it all over the patio. I love how curious their little minds are. Its so Fascinating! It makes me smile when they are so into something that an adult wouldn't even think twice about. Being a Parent really makes you re-live all the small wonders of the world. Even if it is just an Ant!
